Job Title: Retail and Bakery Assistant

Job Summary: DreamScape Desserts is seeking a highly energetic, friendly person with strong organizational skills. This role is best suited for individuals who are comfortable with speaking in person and on the phone with people, and can create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self motivated have a desire to maintain cleanliness and retail

presentation space as well as decorate cupcakes and other desserts as retail will not always be busy. If you are a people person who is team oriented and loves to have fun at work while remaining productive, we would love to meet you!

Hours: Approximately 10-20 (seasonally dependent)

Key Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Greet guests with product recommendations and assistance on our retail counter

• Assist guests who are looking to place custom orders for the future

• Answer phones, take messages, answer questions regarding our weekly retail items, how to place custom orders, how to schedule wedding tastings, etc.

• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming space for our guests

• Restock bakery items and packaging supplies as necessary

• Communicate with Bakery Manager on daily inventory levels

• Handle transactions through the POS with proper cash handling

• Learn cake and cupcake menu and processes of decorating cupcakes and other desserts

Other duties:

• Prepare for and possibly attend offsite markets or shows

• Assist in sugar cookie decorating classes

• Attend sales calls with Bakery Owner if help is needed

• Assist in researching bakery trends, blog post ideas and local events

Required Qualifications:

• Customer service experience

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to multi-task

• Reliable and punctual

• Able to stand for long periods of time

• Lift up to 25 lbs

Work Environment and Schedule:

This is a part-time position. Hours will range from 10-20 hours weekly depending on the season and ebb and flow of a normal food establishment. Our retail hours are Wednesday from 1:00pm - 6:00pm, Thursday from 11:00am - 6:00pm, Friday 11:00am - 7:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am - 2:00pm. We have occasional events or deliveries outside of these hours.
